How it works
How to Use the Hiring Budget Calculator
Start from the budget you have rather than the salary you want. The calculator works backwards to the highest salary that fits in each country.
Enter your budget
Type the total annual amount you can spend on one hire, in US dollars. By default it must also cover the EOR fee.
Pick up to three countries
Compare where your budget goes furthest, or click Compare on any row of the ranking.
Read the split
Each country shows the maximum gross salary, the monthly figure in local currency and exactly where the rest of the budget goes.

FAQs
Hiring Budget Calculator: FAQs
Quick answers on turning a budget into a salary offer.
How much salary can I offer with a $100,000 budget?
It depends on the country. Across 184 countries the median is $81,896, ranging from $95,512 in Armenia to $56,102 in Brazil, with a mid-range EOR fee included.
Does the budget include the EOR fee?
By default, yes. The calculator deducts a mid-range EOR fee for each country. Untick the option if you employ through your own entity.
Is the result gross or net salary?
Gross. It is the annual salary before employee income tax and employee contributions, which is the figure you put in an offer letter.
Why does my budget buy less in Brazil or Spain?
Both add large employer costs on top of salary. Brazil adds a 13th salary, a vacation bonus and FGTS. Spain pays 14 salaries and high social security up to a ceiling.
Are state taxes included for the US, Canada, Australia and India?
No. The calculator uses national rates only. State and provincial levies are covered in the EOR cost calculator.
How is the maximum salary calculated?
The calculator searches for the highest gross salary where salary, employer contributions with their ceilings, 13th month pay, statutory accruals and the EOR fee together stay within your budget.
